Following the IoTBench vision, in 2016, we have started a Dependability Competition Series as a first attempt to rigorously benchmark the performance of low-power wireless systems under the same settings in harsh RF environments.
It is exactly to support this competition series that we have created D-Cube, a benchmarking infrastructure that allows us to accurately measure key dependability metrics such as end-to-end delay, reliability, and power consumption, as well as to graphically visualize their evolution in real-time.
The dependability competition has been co-located with the International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks (EWSN) for several years, namely with:
- EWSN 2016 in Graz, Austria (link);
- EWSN 2017 in Uppsala, Sweden (link);
- EWSN 2018 in Madrid, Spain (link);
- EWSN 2019 in Beijing, China (link).
The benchmark suites used in each competition are available here and the corresponding results can be browsed in the corresponding tab.
